We are looking for a talented Senior Underwriter to join our London International Broker Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team, working with International Brokers in the vibrant London market. The role is predominantly based in London, one of our key trading locations, and you will benefit from Aviva's smart working arrangements, offering a blend of home and office working.
A bit about the job:
As a Senior Underwriter, you'll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You'll drive New and/or Existing business and professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. In addition to this, you'll also be responsible for mentoring and coaching colleagues within the team and creating tailor-made solutions for our customers. This role could be ideal for you if you're a dynamic trader with leadership skills, a strong industry-led background, and a track record of winning new business.

Additionally, you will:
- Develop positive relationships with aligned customers and brokers, providing technical support and dealing with all queries.
- Influence key market contacts through business development and customer engagement.
- Understand what matters to customers and brokers to provide the right solutions and deliver the best outcomes that reflect Aviva's underwriting strategy and values.
- Act as a role model, mentor colleagues, and share ideas to contribute towards continued capability improvement in our business.
- Embrace and deliver our underwriting strategy, identifying and implementing improvements to underwriting quality and capability.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Strong knowledge in Property & Casualty with a proven track record of winning & retaining business. Experience in real estate, specialty lines, and motor is a plus.
- Experience in applying underwriting knowledge to improve processes and procedures.
- Ability to manage your own underwriting caseload within a regulatory environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Diploma in CII or a willingness to study for and obtain CII qualifications
