Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Quality Series Built Engineer working to join our client on an ongoing long-term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months.
Location: Oxford
Assignment type: 12 month rolling contact, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays
Working environment: Site-based
Hours per week: 37
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate
Your new role
• As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will hold accountability for the management and resolution of quality issues within the supplied parts landscape and follow defined processes to raise Initial Complaint Reports and Supplier 8D landscape requests appropriately.
• Verification that quality instructions, level 0 activities and work instructions issued for quality issues within your perimeter are correct.
• You will ensure the problem landscapes are clearly communicated to the appropriate suppliers and engage with QMT’s (Quality Management Parts) and supplier representatives at all levels to steer the problem resolution process and challenge proposed solutions.
• Your remit will include ensuring the PQM landscape is progressed to closure in line with defined processes and supported by the Supplier 8D landscape.
• You will guarantee third party sorting actions onsite are dealt with efficiently and effectively and containment activity is transferred to suppliers as quickly as possible, escalating problems and suppliers where necessary.
• Providing cross-functional support to process partners with respect to problem analysis and module meetings, you will ensure clear communication if quality topics within the organisation.
Qualifications
Possession of an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent education is required.
Proven capability to apply quality problem-solving tools efficiently is essential.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and use basic measuring equipment.
Electronic expertise (E&E) is essential for the role. Successful candidates will possess an intimate understanding of the components within cars – eg; head units, display units, ECUs as well as the software networks within the car.
An ideal candidate will have experience working on a test bench / test suite.
