Mechanical AC/HVAC Project Engineer
Location: Surrey
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000

Specializing in the supermarket and semi-commercial sectors, they focus on strategic environmental planning, introducing the latest technologies, and reducing the environmental impact of high-power-consuming installations. They are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

* Oversee HVAC and refrigeration projects from inception to completion, primarily focused on supermarket and semi-commercial environments such as retail outlets and offices.

* Manage projects to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and high-quality outcomes that align with both client expectations and our environmental goals.

* Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of projects, while addressing challenges proactively to avoid delays.

* Prepare and manage project documentation, including schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and sustainability reports.

Site Surveys & Technical Assessments:

* Conduct site surveys to evaluate existing HVAC and refrigeration systems in supermarkets and semi-commercial properties, identifying opportunities for energy savings and environmental improvements.

* Propose and implement upgrade solutions that reduce energy consumption while offering quick, cost-effective refit options.

* Ensure that design solutions comply with environmental standards, focusing on reducing the carbon footprint of high-power-consuming installations.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

* Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring open communication and delivering environmentally sound, cost-effective solutions.

* Present project proposals, designs, and updates, emphasizing how our solutions reduce operational costs while improving environmental sustainability.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning the company as a long-term business partner focused on mutual environmental benefits.

* Environmental Compliance & Safety:

* Ensure that all designs and installations comply with health and safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations, particularly concerning energy-efficient systems.

* Stay informed of emerging green technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our offerings and meet environmental targets.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

* Work closely with design, procurement, installation, and maintenance teams to deliver projects that align with our strategic environmental goals.

* Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior engineers, ensuring that all team members are aligned with our cost-effective, environmentally driven approach.

* Foster collaboration across departments to ensure that projects deliver not just client satisfaction but also measurable environmental benefits.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration design and project management, ideally within the supermarket and semi-commercial sectors.

* Proven experience delivering energy-efficient, environmentally sustainable solutions within HVAC or refrigeration projects.

Technical Skills:

* Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and a strong understanding of energy-efficient HVAC and refrigeration systems.

* Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, with a proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and sustainability targets.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder expectations.

* Strong organizational skills, with a keen focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
