Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

This is a junior-level position within the BTN Group & NMG Group, the leading B2B publisher and event organizer in the managed business travel and meetings industry. The role provides a great opportunity for candidates who want to build their own audience sales career, while gaining exposure and insight into the workings of a global B2B media, exhibitions, and events business.


The ideal candidate will have stellar communication skills, enthusiasm, and proactivity, with a creative approach to relationship building. This person will learn from a skilled team with extensive experience and be part of our fast-paced and continued growth. This person will be responsible for audience recruitment via various means to support The BTN Group Europe sales & events teams to grow the business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calling data provided to build travel buyer audiences for tradeshows and one day events within the BTN Group and NMG Group
  • Attend industry events to build a travel buyer network.
  • Some account management responsibilities to take ownership of a travel buyer network of contacts.
  • Work to achieve personal KPI’s and targets.
  • Update and maintain current database by sourcing new leads, feeding back lead information changes and building data where needed.
  • Build an online community via social media, sourcing relevant contacts to add to the Northstar database.
  • Calling data for table sales and award entries
  • Liaise with sales and marketing departments to feedback industry news
  • Monitor and report personal performance to line manager.
  • Create a clear understanding of travel buyers’ needs and requirements as well as the wider business travel industry.
  • Perform other related duties as directed and/or required.
  • Assist hosted buyer and event teams in driving appointment numbers
  • Application vetting


KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIORS AND SKILLS

  • Fluent English communication, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional telephone skills and strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • A high degree of professionalism.
  • Attention to detail in all areas.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously - strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Service awareness – Good telephone manner and customer service skill
  • Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook),
  • Ability to quickly grasp the workings of CRM, accounting, and business delivery software applications.
  • Understanding of USP’s and competitor events
  • Understand market trends and developments.


RELATED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Aptitude and interest in delegate sales is a must.
  • Prior experience with delegate sales and administrative functions is strongly preferred.
