POSITION: Data Analyst, Institutional Research (FT)
Effective immediately: Full-time Data Analyst - Institutional Research - Wilmington University.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required. Other or equivalent job experience in report development, data analysis, data integration, and information management are preferred. The incumbent must have at least 1 year of relevant experience. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical skills. Basic knowledge of T-SQL and/or PL/SQL for querying databases. Familiarity with IBM Cognos Analytics for report generation and experience with Power BI for creating reports and dashboards. Self-directed with strong decision-making abilities and creative problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate verbal instructions and conversations into written requirement specification documents. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate, interpret, and leverage reports effectively. Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment. Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Assist all staff and faculty by working closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide insights and solutions.
• Responsible for presenting findings to stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
• Assist in the maintenance and optimization of databases.
• Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and key insights that help drive business decisions.
• Collaborate with senior Institutional Research staff members and IT teams to support larger data projects.
• Building reports using IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI, delivering accurate and user-friendly reports to business stakeholders.
• Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties that the AVP of Institutional Research, Strategic Planning, and Assessment may assign.
Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Incumbent must be flexible enough with their hours to meet the needs of the department and/or the University. Travel to various sites is required.
