Job Summary:
To assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of medical, lab, domestic water, and waste disposal systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical certification preferred. Three (3) years of related experience, healthcare preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: Valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of steam, water, and natural gas distribution systems maintenance and repair. Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
Responsibilities
- Assembles pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
- Utilizes various types of sewer pipe cleaning machines.
- Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air to detect and locate leaks.
- Isolates utility services for new connections for needed repairs, renovations, and new construction.
- Submits detailed reports describing the scope of work performed, material used, and amount of time spent to accomplish the job.
- Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies; complies with workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Compliant with accrediting and licensing organizations.
- Completes and documents work performed in a timely manner and maintains quality standards.

Physical and Environmental Demands
