Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
Compensation Range: The base pay scale for this position is $34.07 - $52.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role.
What you will be doing
JOB DESCRIPTION - Office Manager: Dr. Nicole Matar
Responsibilities:
Acts as the representative of, and provides administrative office assistance to, the pain management physician.
Coordinates all aspects of the office’s daily operations, including:
Schedules patient appointments, pre-certifies patients, secures insurance authorizations, orders tests as directed by physician; schedules patient procedures with HSS booking office.
Coordinates and arranges physician’s clinical calendar and patient flow. Takes the initiative to remedy periods of over and under booking.
Answers phones and triages calls, coordinates meetings.
Maintains adequate inventory of office supplies.
Suggests and implements processes to improve efficiency and service.
Other related duties and projects as designated.
Department Requirements:
Displays a positive attitude toward work assignments, performance feedback, and interactions with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors.
Willingly adheres to Department and Hospital policies and procedures.
Maintains computer literacy, including proficiency in Outlook email and E-learning.
Attends Department meetings regularly and punctually.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a physician office or like service-focused environment is required.
Associates degree required - 5 years of experience in a physician's office may be substituted in lieu of education requirement.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
Detail-oriented with ability to follow directions and identify issues to be escalated and followed-through.
Strong computer skills including familiarity with EMR or other related software programs.
Ability to work in a flexible and a fast-paced environment.
Ability to contribute and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Experience with Epic preferred; knowledge of healthcare and health insurance as well as familiarity with medical terminology, highly desirable.
Working Conditions: Physical Requirements
Physical: Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
Environmental: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.
Hazards: OSHA Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other possibly infectious materials.
