Position Summary/Purpose:
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents' needs.
GCU maintains a partnership with Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels at 340 E. Coronado Road, Ste. 100, Phoenix, AZ, 85004. Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels is dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals in providing person-centered care to children (and families) dealing with cancer and other blood-related disorders. The CSLP student worker's work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).
CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, "Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need." These services must be open and accessible to the community.
As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).
Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
- Organize and execute events to raise awareness of Rainbow Angels' programs such as Major Distraction Events, etc.
- Participate in events such as Major Distractions, etc.
- Collect testimonials for feature stories and social media awareness.
- Track and analyze the impact of Rainbow Angel programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- MS Office Suite
- Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
- Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
- Previous Mentoring a plus.
- Ability to speak a second language a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
