Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for solidifying relationships with existing clients, developing new clients, and identifying, tracking, and pursuing new opportunities. A business development manager takes part in activities and efforts to expand sales, new business, and new relationships. Responsible for research, tracking, and scheduling internal and external events and tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.
Duties:
•Mine public and private online sources for public and private land use, development, and construction opportunities
•Verbally solicit sources for information on public and private opportunities
•Track and report public and private development opportunities using customer relationship management software
•Track and report action items relating to business development
•Solicit responses from internal partners on action items related to business development
•Schedule and coordinate events and meetings related to business development and marketing.
•Work closely with the Marketing Department and opportunity champions
•Assist in managing marketing projects and pursuit planning
•Solicit and track deliverables from the Marketing Department and opportunity champions
•Support the Marketing Department and opportunity champions in responding to requests for publishable material, responding to RFPs, and hosting events and meetings.
•Occasional visits to potential job sites for exploration, photo documentation, and tours with potential partners
•Maintains client relationships through regular contact and customer service
•Influences operators to engage in activities to sell their own work and helps them formulate their plans to do so and tracks their activities.
•Be comfortable introducing oneself and the Company to new potential partners in varying situations.
•Be comfortable working in the background and directly with partners to enable our opportunity champions to successfully get work that is consistent with our business plan and core values.
•Acquire the market knowledge necessary to discern which partners and projects are consistent with our core values and business plans
Qualifications
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.
•Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, architectural project management, architecture, construction management, urban studies, or real estate development.
•5 Years of experience in the construction, architecture, engineering, or real estate industry.
•Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
•Bluebeam Studio proficiency
•Training provided for:
-Cosential CRM (training offered)
-Matterport
-Sketchup
