SSM Health is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to join our Team!

This position is full-time, 40-hours per week role. This position is day shift, working at St. Anthony Hospital.

Job Summary:

Oversees pharmacy services and personnel assigned. Provides oversight and supervision of staff, clinical pharmacists, students, and residents as applicable. Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical and operational aspects of the institutional pharmacy. May include recruitment, orientation and training, performance management and staff development, counseling, and scheduling of staff.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises staff, students and residents which may include: recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, staff development, counseling, disciplining, scheduling and conducting staff meetings. Leads by example and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all duties of employees working within the pharmacy.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for pharmacy as they relate to the provision of services in the institutional setting.
  • Tracks productivity and financial data and participates in the development of the operating budget, as well as monitoring and meeting annual budget assumptions.
  • Creates and promotes a positive, customer service-oriented image of the practice. Creates and maintains working relationships with site leadership and physicians.
  • Conducts regular monitoring of controlled substance utilization, interventions, and billing. Assists and participates in meeting company and departmental goals and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintains a state of legal/regulatory readiness for the department and the institution.
  • Identifies patient outcomes, correlates those outcomes to clinical processes, identifies processes that yield best outcomes, and assists in the implementation of those best practices. Maintains periodic contact with different clinical settings, providers, and stakeholders to reassess services, troubleshoot issues, and assess satisfaction.
  • Maintains membership on, or consultation to, committees, work groups, or task forces as needed to communicate and facilitate the ongoing process of the development, implementation, and revision of clinical pharmacy services within the institution.
  • Coordinates the training of and participates in the education of students and residents, as applicable.
  • Precept pharmacy students and residents, as applicable.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D; Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an accredited school of pharmacy

EXPERIENCE

  • One year of experience

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
