  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.




  • Proficient understanding of software development life cycles and advanced coding practices, with a strong background in .NET/C#, Python, and SQL.




  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, developing microservices, APIs, and large- language model applications.




  • Advanced knowledge in designing UML diagrams and understanding Generative AI architecture and training processes.




  • Excellent stakeholder management and project planning abilities, coupled with the capacity to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Position Description:


The Solutions Architect is a senior technical role that operates under the guidance of the Associate Director of Solution Architecture. This position demands a high level of expertise and involvement in the development and support of AI-driven projects across the institution. The role requires active collaboration with both AI development teams and IT infrastructure groups to deliver robust AI solutions that are essential for the organization’s strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Collaboration and Support:




  • Partner with AI development teams to clearly understand project requirements and provide the necessary technical support. This includes working closely with the Center for Computational Biomedicine and other teams requiring AI integration.




  • Assist in the design and deployment of both cloud-based and on-premises systems that cater to the expansive needs of AI functionalities within the institution.




Technical Research and Development:




  • Engage in continuous research to identify and evaluate both commercial and open-source tools that can augment the institution's AI capabilities.




  • Architect and maintain secure data pipelines to facilitate efficient data access and processing for AI teams.




Educational Initiatives and Community Engagement:




  • Develop and conduct training programs and "how-to" documentation to help developers effectively utilize AI tools.




  • Establish and manage Communities of Practice to foster knowledge sharing and innovation among AI users: one for developers engaged in AI application development and another for office or knowledge workers optimizing their workflows through AI.




Project Management and Stakeholder Interaction:




  • Serve as a project lead or subject matter expert (SME), overseeing project lifecycles and ensuring the alignment of solutions with organizational goals.




  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring that AI solutions comprehensively meet the strategic needs of the organization.




Knowledge Dissemination and Technical Leadership:




  • Share expert knowledge through presentations, technical documentation, and the creation of Jupyter Notebook tutorials.




  • Develop proof-of-concept applications to validate and refine proposed AI solutions.




Advisory and Compliance Roles:




  • Provide guidance to infrastructure teams including DevOps, Network, and Security to align AI solutions with broader IT infrastructure.




  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards, perform code reviews, and maintain adherence to the Harvard University IT technical standards and Code of Conduct.
