Their work includes overseeing and managing the entire construction process for commercial projects, from initial planning to project completion. They act as the primary point of contact between the client, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that the project is executed according to specifications, budget, and schedule. With a deep understanding of New Jersey's building codes, zoning regulations, and local permitting processes, the general contractor coordinates all aspects of construction, including hiring and supervising subcontractors, securing necessary permits, managing materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. They also handle the procurement of resources, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and provide regular updates to clients, making sure that the construction project meets the required quality standards and stays within the agreed-upon time frame and budget. Job Description
The Construction Project Manager will:
- provide leadership for the entire project team
- manage and develop the team for the best completion of the project and their personal growth
- build relationships with architects, subcontractors and vendors
- understand and manage contracts with subcontractors
- establish, communicate and build the project schedule
- be in charge of the budget and financial reporting
- manage the quality assurance and control on the project
- provide leadership in risk analysis, negotiation, fees and pricing
The Successful Applicant
The successful Commercial Project Manager will have the following:
- 8+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
- bachelors degree in construction management or other releated degree
- OSHA certified
- proficient with project management software
- effective communicator - both written and verbal
