Unit Specific Information# of Beds: 18Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCUCommon diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old. Various Trauma injuries, Sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest.CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp; Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time.Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuseYes RNs are required to titrate drips.Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmicsThere is a Charge Nurse on each shift who does not take an assignment.There are nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit - Ratios? Duties: 1:18RT Equipment: Nasal cannula to vents. RNs need to be able to read and interpretNo Tele/Monitor Techs - Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring.
