Job Description

**Job Title:** Mammo Tech

**Job Specialty:** Imaging

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:30 am - 7:00 pm

**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year experience as a Rad Tech required and minimum 1 year experience in Mammography preferred

**License:** ARRT Radiography

**Certifications:** ARRT Mammography, Basic Life Support (BLS)

**Must-Have:**
- Excellent communication skills for frequent interactions with physicians, patients, visitors, departmental staff, and nursing staff.
- Ability to function independently and under pressure while participating in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced work environment.
- Understanding of anatomy and pathology in relation to procedure quality.
- Competence in all aspects of Mammography, including patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection.

**Job Description:**

- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Ensure studies have proper patient identification and markers are used appropriately.
- Review radiographic images for acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergency situations and use critical thinking skills.
- Assist other technologists and clarify ambiguous orders when needed.
- Observe patient condition and evaluate situations to ensure patient safety.
- Verify patient identifiers and clinician orders before procedures.
- Ensure patient privacy and comfort.
- Demonstrate appropriate procedures based on patient age.
- Understand and perform pre-and post-procedural care and sterile techniques.
- Organize schedule and priorities to meet designated time frames.
- Follow physician instructions during procedures and exams.
- Adjust technique for optimal imaging and maintain equipment functionality.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to policy.
- Explain exam purposes to minimize patient anxiety.
- Address patient questions and concerns promptly.
- Participate in orientation and training of new employees.
- Maintain documentation for accreditation standards.
- Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness and order in the department.
- Transport and position patients safely during procedures.
- Maintain familiarity with tracking systems and regulatory standards.
