Description
Job Purpose: To support major home improvement retailer's retail project execution team using established, but evolving, retail project installation guides.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conceptualizes plans, develops and writes documentation sets, including concept, reference and task-oriented information, targeted for project installation audiences.
- Identifies plans and revises technical writing project requirements and deliverables and researches source material for associated projects.
- Works with program/project teams to develop various specifications, field procedures and user documentation.
- Works with planning and visual manger in merchandising lab and test environments, interview project execution staff, collect source material and conducts procedure validation with cross-functional contributors for use in the field.
- Organizes material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
- Meets with various contributors to discuss document requirements and gather data to be included in the documents.
- Conducts testing of documentation for correctness and usability.
- Participates in project planning, attends project meetings, reviews written content and coordinates review and validation cycles.
- May require overnight travel to attend concept projects and capture live situations for future projects
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or significant job-related experience
- Proficient in MS Office specifically, Word, Excel, Power Point
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
