Job Description

Role profile:

CDSClear is responsible for clearing Credit Default Swaps for the members and clients currently registered for the service with LCH. The Service is one of the fastest growing streams in the LCH business lines and is looking to build on recent successes to further increase market share.

The CDSClear IT team develops, tests and supports the technology for the CDSClear service. The systems enable CDSClear to complete overnight margin calculations for members, novate intraday trades, run trade simulation requests and provide reports to members and regulators.

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join the existing CDSClear IT QA Test team. The individual fulfilling this role will contribute to both functional and non-regression testing including crafting test case, performing the tests, identifying and reporting defects in the software including the RISK system and the Margin Calculator system. The successful candidate will also analyse the existing test suit to identify gaps in the coverage, identify test that can be automatise, design tools / script to automatise/help the testing execution.

The role will be based in Paris.

ROLE SUMMARY:
  • Ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and inform the Lead QA/Test Engineer all test progress.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing effective test strategy and Identify gaps and improve the existing testing suits
  • Improve existing tools and automation frameworks, and/or craft new tools or automation frameworks

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst, Business and Development teams and other testers to define and improve a hierarchical library of test cases for the CDSClear clearing platform.
  • Develop and enhance Automation Frameworks, and automate test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate test and automation activities
  • Work within a test campaign to complete agreed tests either automatically using the team's automated testing framework or manually using CDSClear or other application components, and a suite of complementary tools.
  • Accurate recording and reporting of test results at a detailed level with a clear audit trail, or at executive summary level suitable for managers and other colleagues.
  • Logging of descriptive defects which allows others to recreate issues and identify solutions
  • Apply QA standard methodologies while continually improving QA processes and coverage

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Essential:
  • Ability to review business requirements and system specifications to define functional test cases which test main day to day flows as well as potential edge cases not identified pre-implementation.
  • Ability to understand Market Risk and Credit Risk
  • Desire to have manual tasks automated to improve efficiency of testing process and improve time to market.
  • SQL skills suitable for querying extensive Oracle databases.
  • Proactive and clear communicator who will demonstrate initiative and challenge when opportunities for improvement are evident.
  • A capable self-starter who can progress work independently, follow up and escalate without hands on management intervention.
  • Confidence when communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to understand the different requirements of individuals.
  • Ability to determine own targets in line with team objectives, and to see opportunities to support colleagues to achieve wider goals.
  • Strong verbal and written English/French skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Preferred:
  • Credit derivative knowledge relevant to trade life cycle and risk management.
  • Knowledge of CDS
  • Knowledge of Market Risk / Creidt Risk: VaR, Expected shortfall, Stress Testing.
  • Experience with the use of test tools and management software such as JIRA, Zephyr, JUnit, Gherkin.
  • Hands-on experience in Test Automation and Scripting languages (Python)
  • Knowledge of UNIX command
  • Knowledge of REST API
