Job Description

Secondary supply teachers

Zen Educate are looking for secondary teachers to take on supply work on either a full time or part time basis starting as soon as possible. This can be either be day to day work or short or long term contract work. This will suit either ECTs looking to get more on hand teaching experience before commiting to a permanent post, or a well established teacher with years of experience that may be wants to take a step away from a permanent post. Whatever your motivation get in touch to see what we can do for you.

To be a great supply teacher in secondary you will need to be flexible to the needs of the school. Whilst a school can take into account specialisms, there will often be elements of teaching various subjects, so being open to deliver lessons based on the timetables will be key.

With supply work you can flex up or down depending on the amount of work you want. Whilst access to a car would be desirable, use of public transport is fine, as long as you are happy to spend some time commuting i.e 45 mins.

We are looking for;

- QTS and relevant teaching qualification

- Confidence in delivering lessons, especially those outside your specialisms

- Good with classroom management and able to tackle behaviours commonly seen when it comes to supply teaching

- Good communication skills and able to handle your calendar effectively

- DBS on the update service is required to work with children so you can either have one already to hand or be willing to apply for one
