Job Description

Key responsibilities of a Groups and Meetings & Events Coordinator:

  • Reporting to the Reservations Manager and working closely with the Sales Manager
  • Establishing client requirements for Meeting & Events business and handling all aspects of group reservations bookings, including room blocks, contracts, rate negotiations and special requests
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to enquiries promptly
  • Communicating effectively and ensuring enquiries are managed to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue, including up-selling equipment, Food & Beverage and relevant hotel facilities, where possible
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure all group requirements are met
  • Assisting with the compilation of accurate function sheets, distributing weekly and discussing with the Operations Team accordingly, proving updates as required

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience within Reservations dealing with groups and/or Meetings & Events
  • Experience of OPERA, OPERA Cloud or Delphi, is advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to work well under pressure and often to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • The ability to use initiative working on own and as part of the team

Full time role, 40 hours per week. Typical shifts will be either 0900-1730 or 1100-1930, weekend work may be required, based on business needs.
