Job Description

Designer Recruitment are seeking a Product Manager for a Kitchen Manufacturer in the Manchester area. Our clientare a leading kitchen distributor supplying the independent market, national merchants and national retailers.

This is a permanent role offering £40,000 - £50,000 for the right Product Manager.


The Role:

As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the product strategy, development, and lifecycle management of our kitchen products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing and supply chain to a product portfolio that meet the needs of our customers. The role reports into the Commercial Director.


Product Manager Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with business goals, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation. Maintain database of competitor ranges. Close relationships with suppliers to keep abreast of product trends and ideas.
  • Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process from concept to launch, working closely with suppliers to ensure products are delivered on time. Manage the NPD process, lead the weekly NPD meetings, manage the project timelines and ensure cross functional engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, customer service, supply chain, finance to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, including product planning, launch, optimisation, and discontinuation decisions. Monitor and report on sales performance and range and SKU efficiency.
  • Product Data: Manage all product data, including product description, coding and product attributes. Liaise closely with purchasing and IT to ensure data is accurate and updated in a timely fashion. Manage controlled documentation for product specifications.
  • Pricing: Manage pricing and promotions in conjunction with Commercial Director. Benchmark pricing and specifications and make recommendations for new or updated products based on data
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality and reliability through technical assessment and quality assurance processes.
  • Sales Support: Provide support to the sales team with product training, marketing collateral, and sales enablement tools to drive product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather customer feedback and insights to continuously improve product offerings and enhance the overall customer experience.


Candidate Profile:

Preferable

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering.
  • Kitchen / Furniture experience preferred.

Essential

  • 3 Years product management experience, with responsibility for managing a product portfolio including internal NPD process management.Candidates with fitted kitchen experience in a sales / design role will also be considered, where product knowledge can be combined with experience in project management.
