Job Description

Who we are and what we do

Four-time winner of the Publisher of the Year award, Little, Brown Book Group is one of the most successful and dynamic publishers in the UK. We publish as wide a range of titles as anyone in the industry, and pride ourselves on the quality, variety and diversity of our publishing output.

On Sphere, we publish some of the world's biggest brand-name novelists, including Sunday Times bestselling authors Colleen Hoover and Ali Hazelwood, and an array of bestselling non-fiction. Piatkus, Constable and Robinson are home to a vast range of fiction and non-fiction titles, with multiple Sunday Times bestsellers, backlist category killers, break-out voices and perennial classics alike. Recent award accolades include Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, which won Pageturner of the Year at the Nibbies 2024, and an Imprint of the Year scoop for Piatkus Fiction, which publishes many the biggest and best names in contemporary fiction. Recent bestselling launches across the list include The Striker by Ana Haung, The Power in You by Rachaele Hambleton - both launching at No.1 on the Sunday Times charts - and Dancing in the Rain , the hugely inspiring memoir by Strictly star Amy Dowden.

What you'll be doing

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of genres, from crime and thriller debuts and brilliant book club fiction to celebrity-led titles and headline grabbing non-fiction. From acquisition to publication, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated PR campaigns across print, digital, broadcast and radio, raising author profiles and planning author events (virtual or physical), presenting PR plans in-house and providing ongoing reporting to key stakeholders in editorial and sales and maintaining excellent working relationships with authors and agents.

Who we are looking for

You will be an experienced publicist with a proven track-record of creating commercially impactful and consumer focused fiction and non-fiction campaigns. Organised, confident and imaginative, with excellent contacts across the media, you will be comfortable managing multiple campaigns simultaneously. This role requires an ability to prioritise tasks, work calmly under pressure, be a strong team player, and possess exceptional communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Press Officer looking for the next step, or a Publicity Manager ready for a new challenge.

What we offer

Our staff are our greatest asset, and our benefits reflect this:
  • 28 annual leave days per year (+ bank holidays)
  • Generous pension schemes
  • Rent deposit loans
  • 2 community days per year
  • Summer hours (finishing at 1pm on Fridays during the summer months)
  • Retail discounts through Hachette rewards
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Eye care vouchers
  • Wide-ranging training library
  • Development programmes (including mentoring)
  • Up to 70% off book purchases
  • A charity bookshelf
  • 12 Staff-led employee networks that are voluntary, including Gender Balance, Thrive, Pride, All Together, Wellbeing and religious networks
  • Season ticket loans
  • And much more!

The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
