Job Description

We are currently seeking a Hospitality Supervisor to join our team here at Spanhoe Lodge. This is a full time position, but only for 30 hours per week average, including at least 1 weekend day.

Spanhoe Lodge is a small family run hotel consisting of 8 guest bedrooms, 2 function rooms, Snooker Room, Leisure facilities and offering many different dining options to our guests.

Spanhoe Lodge is a 4 Star Venue with excellent customer service at its core. You will be involved and work in all areas of the business from Reception, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Meeting & Events and Duty Management. Assisting in a variety of duties, which change on a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for ensuring our standards are maintained whilst providing excellent customer service.

Previous hospitality / housekeeping experience is desirable, however full training will be provided to an enthusiastic candidate with the vision to become part of our small and dedicated team at Spanhoe Lodge. Ideally demonstrate IT Experience including Microsoft Office applications including outlook, and PMS / EPOS experience are desirable but not essential.

You will have to demonstrate a flexible approach towards days and hours of work including weekends and evening work. You will be a confident team player and reliable and capable when working alone.

Due to our rural location, you will need your own transport.

Main Responsibilities

  • To maintain high standards of customer care and service, respond to all guest enquiries and refer any queries or complaints to the owners.
  • To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • To clean, replenish and maintain all guest accommodation and front of house areas in accordance with Spanhoe Lodges Standards.
  • To take ownership of our Laundry Contract, reporting any issues to the owners.
  • To assist in the ordering of supplies, and stock taking.
  • To have an awareness of hotel activity and support the owners in achieving and meeting targets / budgets.
  • To develop a sound working relationship with the owners / family members.
  • To ensure the overall security of all guest belongings, and Spanhoe Lodges building, keys, stock & cash.
  • To ensure storerooms are clean, tidy and hazard free.
  • Report all maintenance issues to the owners.
  • To follow any reasonable instruction as issued by owners & family members.
  • To attend any training / meetings which are identified as being necessary for the performance of this role, including Quarterly 1-1s.
  • To provide a professional level of Food & Beverage service in line with Spanhoe Lodges standards.
  • Lay tables and polish cutlery and glassware in line with Spanhoe Lodges standards.
  • Assist in the cooking and preparation of Breakfast, Lunches, Afternoon Tea and Dinner as required.
  • To check-in, check-out guests in line with Spanhoe Lodges standards.
  • To ensure the grounds are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
  • To fully understand function sheets and assist in delivering a high standard of service during any meeting, event or function
  • To prepare function rooms in line with Spanhoe Lodges standards and following function sheets.
  • To assist with the upkeep of our Leisure Facilities area

Data Protection

  • To have an understanding of Spanhoe Lodges privacy policy
  • To not remove any guest data from Spanhoe Lodge without prior permission from the owners.
  • Report data loss immediately.
