Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Rickmansworth on a part time basis. As a valued member of the team, you will work closely with a specific student, providing them with personalised support to help them achieve their full potential.
This is a part time one to one teaching assistant role for 3 full days Wednesday to Friday starting January.
Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rickmansworth
Pay: £85 to £95 per day
Contract: Long term / Part time
Your responsibilities as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
Offer assistance to the assigned student, both inside and outside the classroom, as directed by the class teacher and SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
Implement various strategies and interventions to support the learning, emotional, and social needs of the student.
Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to create and modify personalised learning plans.
Monitor the progress of the student regularly and provide detailed feedback to the teacher.
Support the student with their academic work, ensuring comprehension and assisting with any difficulties they may face in the learning process.
Promote independence and encourage the student to take responsibility for their own learning.
Foster positive and inclusive relationships, promoting the student's well-being and self-confidence.
Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and development, including observations and assessments.1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:
Relevant teaching assistant qualification or experience working with children in an educational setting.
Passion for supporting students who require additional assistance, including those with special educational needs.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with the student, teachers, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and understanding to build a trusting relationship with the student.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, following instructions and taking initiative when required.
