Job Description
**Job Title:** Mammography Technologist - Breast Center - Part-Time Days
**Job Specialty:** Imaging

**Shift:** Thursday 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day)

**Experience:** Minimum 1-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist required, and minimum 1-year experience in Mammography preferred
**License:** Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
**Certifications:** ARRT Mammography, Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
**Must-Have:** Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, excellent customer service skills, detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively, strong knowledge in mammography, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection.
**Job Description:**
- Perform a wide variety of technical procedures with independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
- Ensure quality diagnostic studies are obtained safely and effectively.
- Position and set up patients and equipment for imaging services.
- Maintain compliance with FDA/MQSA requirements for continuing education, experience, and equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating radiographic equipment safely.
- Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or service providers.
- Ensure all studies have proper patient identification and correct markers.
- Review and release radiographic images for clinically acceptable results, ensuring patient safety and privacy.
- Respond to emergency situations with critical thinking skills.
- Assist other technologists as needed and observe patient conditions.
- Verify patient identifiers and clinician orders before procedures.
- Apply appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age.
- Follow pre-procedure verification and time-out processes where applicable.
- Organize schedule and prioritize tasks within designated time frames.
- Educate patients by explaining procedures to minimize anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Participate in departmental employee orientation and training.
- Produce high-quality images, maintaining a first-time acceptance rate of 95%.
- Complete studies and ensure proper documentation for accreditation standards.
- Maintain the department in a clean and orderly condition, restocking supplies as needed.
- Transport patients safely and assist them on and off procedure tables.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Wear scrubs in Caribbean Blue or Hot Pink as part of the uniform.
