Director, International Tax/Corporate Transformation Tax

We are seeking a Director to join our International and Corporate Transformation Tax team. This position seeks a diverse tax and business consulting background with a focus in providing international tax and consulting services to our clients.

How you will contribute
  • Identify the impact of key international tax provisions (e.g., Section 951A, Section 250, Section 59A, Section 163(j), Pillar II) on large scale operational business changes.
  • Model transaction scenarios across jurisdictions to identify tax efficiencies and incentives opportunities associated with global corporate supply chain transformations and restructurings
  • Identify multinational/cross-border tax issues and opportunities and related coordination with specialists and local country tax advisors to manage delivery of integrated global tax advice.
  • Performing IP migrations, entity rationalization, post-acquisition integration and operational planning, international M&A, debt structuring and foreign tax planning for large multinational companies
  • Identify, develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations.
  • Analyze IP structures, transactional flows, debt structures, and tax returns to evaluate potential tax opportunities for global companies.
  • Prepare and review financial and tax models computing cash tax and operational impacts of proposed planning including availability of tax related incentives.
  • Research technical issues pertaining to corporate international tax, debt restructurings, reorganizations, and operational restructurings.
  • Prepare and review structuring slide decks, technical memoranda and opinions.
  • Lead preparation, detailed discussion, and follow through in client and internal stakeholder meetings.
  • Manage risk, resources, staffing and financial performance for multiple engagements at once including billing, collections and project budgets
  • Lead client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate our Associates, Senior Associates and Managers by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere
  • Manage workload and deadlines for Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team
  • Demonstrate commitment and desired behaviors while working with others that have diverse experiences, skills and perspectives
  • Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product
  • Regularly supports business development efforts. Sees opportunities for add on work, thought leadership, new client pitches, and optimizing the compliance process

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance / Supply Chain
  • Licensed CPA or Licensed Attorney
  • 6+ years of tax consulting experience
  • Experience with at least one of the following
    • Global cash tax scenario modeling (i.e., quantifications of tax savings associated with planning opportunities)
    • International tax and transfer pricing implications of cross-border supply chain transformations
    • Global project management and identification of cross-border tax issues (i.e., withholding tax, BEAT, BEPs)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office products skills, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of inbound and outbound international tax planning strategies (i.e., check the box, treaty qualification, IP planning, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted tax and business advisor: building relationships, identifying and addressing client needs, and delivering high quality deliverables
  • Passion for training and mentoring staff
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
  • High motivation to learn and grow and actively identifies trends and new ideas for enhancing solutions and approaches
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $130,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
