Dessert Holdings is looking for a night/2nd shift Maintenance Manager in Aurora, CO. This position manages and coordinates activities of employees engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, maintaining equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools. Manages employees engaged in maintenance activities such as repairs, installation of all components of machinery, and facility structures. Complies with company standards and procedures ensuring safe quality food is produced, within a sanitary environment, and established time schedule. Also, completes required reports/paperwork and other duties as required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
- Manage supervisors and overall crew projects.
- Perform and assist with equipment rebuilds.
- Set up and adjust facility and production equipment.
- Source and order all MRO parts and supplies.
- Design and fabricate production equipment and accessories.
- Provide process input and direction in production processes.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services.
- Identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff and allocate resources accordingly.
- Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies and procedures
- Make time sensitive repairs and modifications of equipment to keep production running.
- Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures
- Monitor work activities to make sure they comply with established practices and procedures
- Monitor and order control supplies and equipment
- Prepare documents for equipment procurement.
- Manage contracted projects and service work from outside suppliers.
- Coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures and techniques.
- Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
- Responsible for the fiscal performance of the Maintenance Department.
- Must be hands on and actively participate on the production floor while supervising employees.
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Possess knowledge of operations, services, and activities of a buildings' maintenance and repair program.
- Ability to work in and around freezers, machining equipment, grinding and production equipment.
- Know materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in maintenance and repair of equipment and systems including those used in performing plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical and painting work.
- Principles of supervision and training.
- Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes and rules.
