Job Description

As a Property Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of DLP Capital's many RV Resorts. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support management decision-making.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

  • 1+ years of proven experience as an accountant or in a related financial role within the RV, hospitality, or resort industry
  • Experience with campground software and POS systems including Newbook, Clover and CampSpot
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
What you are great at: (Responsibilities)
  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements on assigned properties by the deadlines indicated on Accounting Department Reporting Scorecard.
  • Review of daily revenue activity from property reservation and POS software to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review of daily revenue activity from property reservation and POS software into accounting software.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of inventory balances and cost of goods sold.
  • Reconciles assigned bank accounts. Investigates and solves issues regarding cash deposits/checks and cash balances.
  • Mortgages: verify principal, taxes, insurance and reserves balances match statements.
  • Track and amortize property taxes, insurance policies and other term expenses.
  • Responsible for calculating, filing, and tracking all applicable sales and occupancy taxes
  • Assists PM Controller, CFO, and SVP of Finance and the accounting department with special projects as may be needed or directed.
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time (often on short notice), as directed.
