Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
Job Type: Full Time, Full Academic Year starting ASAP

Job Description:
We are working closely with a Primary School in Durham who are seeking an experienced and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team potentially for the full academic year starting as soon as possible (funding dependant). The successful candidate will work full time, providing essential support to a pupil with Autism, and SEMH within key stage one.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in the planning and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of child.
Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions to students with special educational needs (SEN).
Implement behaviour management strategies to support the pupil on a one to one basis.
Support students in developing social skills, independence, and self-confidence.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and on excursions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Participate in professional development and training sessions relevant to SEN support.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience working with children with Autism and Challenging Behaviour is essential.
A relevant qualification in Special Education Needs or Child Development is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with SEN.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of different age groups.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Working Hours:
Full time, Monday to Friday 8.30 – 3.30pm.
