Job Description

I am looking for an experienced Kitchen Fitter to work on a long-term temporary basis for a reputable contractor providing services on behalf of a local council. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality kitchen fitting services as part of a wider refurbishment program in council properties. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to contribute to meaningful community projects with potential for long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Installation: Install kitchens in council-owned properties, including cabinets, worktops, sinks, taps, and appliances, in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Preparation and Measurement: Rip out of existing unit and preparing for installation of new unit
Plumbing and Basic Electrical Work: Carry out minor plumbing and electrical adjustments as required to accommodate new kitchen layouts, with a strict adherence to safety standards.
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets council and contractor quality standards and adheres to health and safety regulations.
Customer Liaison: Communicate effectively and professionally with tenants, ensuring minimal disruption during the installation process.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered, reporting them to the Project Supervisor.
Collaboration: Work closely with other trades and subcontractors as needed to ensure project completion within timelines.Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a Kitchen Fitter, ideally within social housing, public sector, or residential property refurbishments.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in kitchen fitting techniques, including cabinet installation, worktop fitting, basic plumbing, and electrical work.
Certification: Relevant NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in kitchen fitting, carpentry, or a related field.
