Job Description

Working within the Global Marine and Navy business unit you will provide technical writing support to JCI and our customers. Client portfolio will cover UK and international navies but also commercial vessels such as cargo ships, tankers, ferries, and yachts. The role will involve developing technical documentation across several contracts. The documents will be contract specific and will be developed in accordance with the client’s specifications. The type of documents will be wide ranging including mechanical, electrical, and environmental.

How you will do it

  • Understanding and interpreting client’s technical specifications.

  • Developing technical document to client specifications.

  • Participation in contract review meetings internally and with the client.

  • Providing general contract support to the Project Manager.

  • Preparing document transmittals and managing document control of the project.

  • Being able to understand and interpret technical drawings P&ID’s to create Operating and Maintenance Manuals.

  • Interpreting Approval Authority rules and Regulations.

What we look for

Essential

  • Experience developing contract technical documentation.

  • Liaising directly with the client and approval authorities.

  • Experience in interpreting client’s technical specifications.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft std packages.

Preferred

  • HNC/HND in Engineering

  • Experience in Document Control

  • Experience in the Marine Industry

  • Experience with MoD contracts

  • Experience in the Fire Protection or Fire Detection industry
