Who You Are

• Minimum qualification: Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.


• Registered with the Health Care Professionals Council.


• Experience in triage and strength-based assessments for people with disabilities and carers.


• Skilled in recommending and using equipment and adaptations for individuals with disabilities.


• Adept at managing a diverse workload independently within agreed service standards.


• Ability to present concise, evidence-based information both verbally and in writing.


• Commitment to undertake training as required and a personal dedication to Liverpool City Council's vision and values.


• Subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level.


• Desirable: Full UK driving license and experience in managing or supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.

What the Job Involves

• Working within the framework of the Care Act 2014 and adhering to City Council Policies & Procedures.


• Conducting strength-based assessments for adults, promoting independent living and quality of life.


• Recommending and organizing equipment and structural adaptations to meet assessed needs.


• Demonstrating equipment/adaptations to individuals and their carers.


• Liaising with various professionals to ensure optimal service delivery within resource constraints.


• Managing a caseload, maintaining accurate electronic records, and meeting applicable service standards.


• Developing Occupational Therapy Assistants and students on placement.


• Exploring funding options and income generation for efficient resource management.


• Ensuring social value through activities, delivering social, economic, and environmental benefits.


• Driving council plans and promoting excellent customer service.


• Promoting equal opportunities and ensuring health and safety compliance in all work functions.
