Job Description
Position Overview:
The Account Manager will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by managing order processing and quotation support. This role requires close collaboration with the external sales team and internal departments to deliver customer value. Additionally, the Account Manager will evaluate and contribute to improving internal processes to reduce inefficiencies, enhance responsiveness, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, owning the customer experience from start to finish.
- Support key accounts through effective communication and load-sharing within the team to maintain efficiency and meet sales targets.
- Proactively develop new sales opportunities while following up on existing leads to improve conversion rates.
- Stay well-informed on company products and services to better understand customer needs.
- Maintain high levels of customer service by offering technical guidance, addressing concerns, and communicating clearly about lead times, transport, and quality issues.
- Prepare, generate, and follow up on quotations to secure orders, while analyzing reasons for lost opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing, outside sales, and national accounts to qualify and develop new business opportunities.
- Prepare monthly reports and analyze sales data trends.
- Manage customer complaints and returns, ensuring timely resolution and follow-ups with relevant departments.
- Develop customer quotations with engineering support when necessary, applying pricing methodologies to win competitive bids.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and working across departments to implement solutions.
- Occasional travel to trade shows, industry events, and customer visits may be required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of experience in customer service or sales, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
- Bachelor's Degree required; an engineering background is a plus.
- Strong technical sales and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting scientific and technical documentation, including project specifications and technical drawings.
- Proven ability to address customer inquiries or complaints professionally and competently.
- Demonstrated aptitude for building strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Experience with rotating equipment is preferred.
- Attention to detail, ensuring full support to both customers and sales teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong general PC skills.
- Knowledge of web design, SEO, PPC, and online marketing is a plus.
