Job Description

Senior Material Handler
Pay Rate/Range: $27.00 to $32.00 DOE - Paid Weekly
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Distribution
    • Oversee receiving and distribution of goods and supplies, inspecting incoming items to ensure accurate quantities, record-keeping, and suitability for production use.
    • Deliver packages to the correct department or individual, maintaining both manual and computerized records as needed.
  • Order Picking and Packing
    • Pick, pack, and label products for shipment by processing orders, retrieving items from storage, and preparing shipments.
    • Handle returned goods, adhering to established procedures for redistribution, repackaging, and retesting.
  • Inventory and Stock Management
    • Replenish stock to maintain adequate supply levels for daily operations.
    • Conduct regular checks to ensure correct lot numbers, quantities, expiration dates, and to identify potential product damages.
    • Assist with stock relocation, consolidation, and material destruction to optimize space.
  • Shipping
    • Stage materials for truck loading, and load/unload by hand or using mechanical equipment following DOT regulations.
  • Laboratory and Manufacturing Support
    • Maintain work areas stocked with necessary supplies, monitor lab inventory, and schedule repairs and preventative maintenance.
    • Support data entry and documentation in SAP/LIMS, adhering to established procedures.
    • As required, perform manufacturing and testing tasks, including stockroom maintenance, buffer preparation, bulk formulation, filling, sub-assembly, and sample testing.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Follow corporate and regulatory safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials.
    • Maintain a safe, clean workspace in compliance with GMP guidelines and OSHA regulations.
    • Train temporary or less experienced staff in current procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Additional Duties
    • Operate heavy equipment, postage meters, and various tools as required by assignment.
    • Handle or manage hazardous wastes according to governmental regulations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
    • Valid driver's license, if required by assignment.
  • Experience
    • 1-2 years of experience in warehousing or distribution.
    • Forklift experience may be required for Inventory & Replenishment or Warehouse positions.
    • Experience handling hazardous materials.
    • Proficiency with computers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in receipt and inventory of goods, including handling hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, IATA, ISO, DOT, GMP, SAP, and QSR regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, postage meters, and various tools as required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
