Description:
• We are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer with a focus on backend development to manage and optimize Linux-based systems for data warehousing.
• The role involves configuring and enhancing infrastructure, automating processes, and participating in system upgrades.
• The ideal candidate will be passionate about continuous improvement and have a strong grasp of scripting, relational databases, and system security.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and configure Linux systems for data warehousing operations.
• Identify and address vulnerabilities and access control issues, applying appropriate solutions.
• Develop and improve scripts, tools, and automated processes to streamline operations.
• Participate in system upgrade projects and address non-compliant technologies.
• Configure and manage SSH/SFTP with a focus on security and efficient configuration.
• Work with Unix file systems, managing permissions, mounts, and essential tools.
• Utilize scripting languages, primarily shell scripting and Python; Perl experience is a plus.
• Use and configure tools for Agile development, including Jira, Jenkins, and automation frameworks.
• Manage and work with relational databases, with a preference for Oracle-based systems.
• Collaborate effectively using Agile methodologies and contribute to continual process improvement.
Required Skills:
• At least five years of experience in Linux engineering or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline.
• Proficiency in Linux server configuration, shell scripting, and system security.
• Familiarity with ETL and orchestration tools, with experience in data flows and warehouse concepts.
• Experience with Agile development tools and practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• A drive for process automation and efficiency.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with data warehouse and business intelligence concepts.
• Willingness to tackle challenges outside of current expertise.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $47.49-$67.85 Per Hour
