Senior IT Infrastucture Engineer
Waltham Cross, Herts
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be skilled in project management, server administration, virtualization, network management, and enterprise-level support, focusing on performance, security, and service continuity.
The role isn’t simply keeping the lights on but will involve working on future projects across the spectrum from security to unified communication.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities of the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will include but are not limited to:
Microsoft 365: Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365.
Windows Server & Active Directory: Administer Windows Servers 2022, Active directory and Microsoft Exchange.
Virtualization: Administration of VMware and AWS environments.
Desktop and Device Management: Deploy and support Microsoft and Linux workstations and mobile devices (iOS/Android).
Network & Infrastructure Support: Support VoIP system, network and backup systems (Veeam).
Extensive experience of implementing and running infrastructure operational processes (Monitoring & Support, Maintenance, Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery).
To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP) and experience with automation tools.
Significant experience of managing infrastructure in a complex IT environment.
Expertise in Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMware/Hyper-V, networking, VoIP Cloud telephony.
Strong project management, troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
