Assistant Site Manager - Infrastructure

Job Description
My client are seeking a proactive and skilled Assistant Site Manager to join their team, contributing to the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.
This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their site management career within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with client representatives and subcontractors to coordinate and program works effectively.
Collaborate with the Contract Manager and Business Manager to plan and program complex contract works, including forward programming for labour, plant, and materials.
Site Operations:
Maintain a safe, tidy, and well-organized site.
Call off materials and assist in preparing schedules for orders.
Organize daily plant and equipment requirements.
Apply company procedures, including Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Safety Leadership:
Ensure safe working methods are employed.
Inspect site safety equipment and address unsafe practices.
Operate the Permit to Dig system and report incidents or near misses.
Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and photographic evidence.
Manage staffing levels, conduct site inductions, and ensure personnel and subcontractors understand their tasks.
Liaise with members of the public and local businesses as needed.
Assist the QS and Contracts Manager with measures, claims, and financial reporting.Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering.
Strong people management and communication skills.
Highly motivated and a team player.
Full UK driving license.
Qualifications such as CSCS, NRSWA, or SMSTS.
Financial management experience.
Ability to work accurately to deadlines with strong record-keeping skills.Desirable:
Familiarity with MS Project, Word, and Excel.
Experience with Local Authority highway projects.
Confined Spaces qualification.
Ability to manage multiple smaller sites simultaneously.
