Field Service Engineer
Salary: Up to £38k
Location: East Anglia and North London
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to provide top-quality repair, maintenance, and customer support for our client's life support and medical devices. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment within the medical device industry, ensuring products are in optimal condition for hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and close service contract opportunities in the assigned territory.
Test, diagnose, repair, and calibrate equipment, ensuring it is left fully operational or communicating further needs to customers.
Use necessary tools and instruments to perform tasks safely and effectively.
Plan and manage workloads to meet company and customer expectations.
Provide training on the operation of life support equipment to both internal and external teams.
Respond to customer service and technical queries promptly.
Maintain and update technical product knowledge to offer comprehensive customer training and support.
Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date for all repairs and parts used.
Strengthen customer relationships through high-quality, courteous, and professional service.
Provide regular activity reports and suggest product improvements.
Participate in the company’s 24/7 support service, on a rotational basis, for emergency equipment delivery or support.
Requirements:
Essential:
Hands-on experience with tools and instruments in a technical role.
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with healthcare staff.
Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel both within the UK and occasionally overseas.
Desirable:
Experience in servicing operating theatre or critical care products.
Background in the healthcare or medical device industry.
Knowledge of clinical product applications.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficient use of a range of hand tools and technical instruments.
Problem-solving skills for quick identification and resolution of technical issues.
Ability to deliver clear, professional training on a range of medical equipment.
Awareness of healthcare regulations and quality standards within UK and international markets.
High level of health and safety awareness and best practices.
