CNC setter / Programmer

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer for our client who are a leading manufacturing company within the aluminium extrusion industry.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and experienced CNC programmer that possess a strong background in programming CNC machinery, with an emphasis on precision and efficiency.
The CNC Programmer will work closely with engineers and machinists to develop and implement effective programming solutions and work closely with the quality , engineering ,commercial and production teams.
Experience with Mecal Machinery would be beneficial but training can be given if used other transferable machinery / controls and software.
Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise CNC programmes for various machining operations.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create accurate machining instructions.
* Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring proper tooling is used for each job.
* Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process.
* Collaborate with the production team to improve processes and reduce waste.
* Maintain accurate documentation of programmes, tooling, and production records.
* Assist in training junior staff on CNC programming techniques and best practices.
Skills
* Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for designing components.
* Experience with Mecal Machinery/ software would be preferred but training can be given if other experience on different machinery and software.
* Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to fabricate parts as needed.
* Experience Programming and setting with 5 Axis.
* Experience with tooling selection and application for various materials.
* Familiarity with logic controllers and their integration into CNC machinery.
* Competence in using hand tools for setup and maintenance tasks.
* Knowledge of materials handling processes within a warehouse environment.
* Ability to weld is a plus, enhancing versatility within the role.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Shifts would be 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6 Rotation and good bonus structure in place.
