Estimator Role Overview
As the CGS National Estimator you will play an integral part in CGS’s sustainable growth by supporting the Regional Contract Managers in tendering for new opportunities on a national basis reporting to the Operations Director.
Key Responsibilities of the Estimator:
* Preparation of prime cost estimates.
* Basic comparison of subcontractors and supplier quotations.
* Completion of fully considered tenders at settlement stage.
* Advise on finalisation matters of risk, qualification and margin.
* Successful post tender negotiations.
* Provide estimating support in pre-bid submissions/pre-qualification documents.
* Procurement – exposure to various mechanisms for the procurement of projects
* Pricing – competent to establish a forecast of net prime cost, preliminary costing and cost planning.
* Package management – skills in supply chain enquiry generation and management.
* Bid administration – competent to manage the tendering and estimating process.
Qualifications and Skills of the Estimator:
* National Highways Passport and CSCS Card
* Safety Critical Medical
* Full UK Driving licence
* Experience in estimating a range of green services, grounds maintenance, landscaping and arboricultural related tasks.
* Working as part of a team
* Able to communicate both internally and externally clearly
* Able to work in a logical and safe manner adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
* Ability to work on own initiative and in part of a team
* Must be Highly Motivated and potential to motivate and support team members.
Experience and Knowledge needed for the Estimator:
Experience in estimating a range of green services, grounds maintenance, landscaping and arboricultural related tasks.
Working as part of a team
Knowledge in Green services activities, grounds maintenance, soft & hard landscaping, weed control, arboricultural services, commercial grass cutting and winter maintenance
