SEMH Teaching & Learning Assistant - Inclusions Pathway Team
Part time – Term Time only (16hrs)
Temporary -to- Permanent
Car drivers ONLY
Smile Education South Yorkshire is working in partnership with an Academy Trust based in South Yorkshire. They need a SEMH Teaching Assistant for their primary school, long term and permanent for the right candidate.
For this specialist role you may be expected to deliver English, Maths and Personal Social Development sessions to a caseload of pupils. Caseloads will be constantly changing as new pupils come to roll and await a site space. You may also be required to transport pupils to other sites, so must hold a full and valid UK Drivers Licence, with business insurance (expenses paid).
The right person will be personable, happy and having a positive attitude to be able to support & educate children who have had a difficult journey within school, so far.
Some children may have speech difficulties themselves and all have additional needs of some form of ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, autism, mild learning difficulties, SEMH, anxiety.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant must have:
2 education-based references
You must have a UK teaching experience.
Experience and knowledge with ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, autism
Experience with EHCP’s
Good approach to behaviour management
