Youll be joining phs Group, the largest hygiene services provider in the UK with 120,000 customers in more than 300,000 locations. You will be supporting phs Compliance, the UKs leading provider of electrical and testing services with over 500 employees. Youll work directly for the MD of phs Compliance and be responsible for the customer billing and credit management function. Its a diverse role that youll enjoy, providing commercial and financial advice, challenge and support to the MD and managers. The Role of Finance Business Partner with phs Compliance
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, monthly forecast, and detailed reporting and analysis of any variances, including plans for addressing any negative variances.
  • Provide proactive and meaningful financial analysis and advice on both operational issues and commercial decision-making. This includes pricing policy, business cases, capex requirements, and the tracking of costs and benefits.
  • Support the Managing Director in the orderly, profitable development of the business within the framework of the phs Compliance business plan.
  • Provide incisive and user-friendly management information to allow fact-based decision making. Present management reports in a consistent, cohesive, clear format, interpreting variances and trends in financial data, and relate these to operational performance.
  • Prepare the Divisions monthly trading reviews and board reports and present meaningful results to senior leaders.
  • Co-ordinate the Divisions budget and forecasting processes, providing meaningful analysis and commentary to the phs Compliance Leadership Team and Group Finance department.
  • Ensure that a robust financial control infrastructure always exists, and that financial systems and reporting operate to the highest standards. Financial data accuracy and compliance with legal requirements are key.
  • Work with the MD and leaders to develop pricing policies that deliver new business on acceptable commercial terms (including appropriate margin and risk evaluation) and on business processes to seek and improve operational efficiency and divisional profitability.
  • Work closely with the Billing and Credit Control Manager to ensure customers are billed correctly and cash is collected. Managing cash collection to terms and consistently deliver budgeted DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Produce high quality, accurate regular and ad hoc reports showing the performance of Credit Management in the business.

    The right person for the role of Finance Business Partner with phs Compliance
  • A commercially astute, proactive self-starter, based in or near Warrington a qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
  • Someone with Business Partner experience within a senior management team, who understands the key business drivers that contribute to value.
  • Experience of sustaining profitability, quality and service standards using key performance indicators and ratios to identify potential issues before they materialise.
  • Youll demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding, without compromising financial conduct. Someone who ensures that business opportunities are appropriately evaluated to minimise risk and sustain/improve profit margins.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to contribute towards the development of strategy and policy across a range of general business issues. Someone with an open and honest approach, who communicates positively, and who can constructively challenge senior managers to prevent any harm to the business.
  • Broad financial management experience in a business-to-business service organisation who works hard, takes ownership, and gets things done.

Were based in Golborne, and candidates should live within easy travelling distance of the office. We operate a hybrid working policy, but the successful candidate should expect to spend most of their time in the office. The role will involve travel to other offices in the UK, such as Tamworth and Hayes (near Heathrow).
