Job purpose

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer and functionally to the Department Production Manager, the Plant Improvement Engineer will work as a part of the maintenance department to implement and maintain engineered solutions for our production teams, to achieve measurable increase in plant safety, availability, performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities:
  • Support the drive to develop and implement best-practice engineering and process safety standards across the business
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Maintenance Engineer and Production Manager to highlight key areas for engineering and EHS improvement
  • Find innovative solutions and deliver improvement projects to improve the safety, functionality, efficiency and reliability of the plant.
  • Analyse data sourced from OEE, CMMS and asset reliability programmes, to identify key areas for engineering improvement
  • Utilise Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to systematically identify root causes of downtime, inefficiency and waste to drive OEE improvements
  • Use Management of Change (MOC) to ensure engineering modifications are delivered safely and in compliance with engineering standards and site procedures

Requirements for the role:
  • BEng degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably with a chemicals or mechanical bias
  • Experience managing projects
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of plant reliability studies.
  • Competent with computerised systems and some knowledge of engineering software packages
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work systems and control of works
