Senior Oracle Database Administrator Job Title: Oracle System DBA (6-Month Temporary Contract) Location: Belfast Hybrid (must visit the office weekly) Salary: 50K - 57K annual A leading health care organisation is seeking an experienced Oracle System DBA for a 6-month contract role. This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, manage critical database systems, and work with a dynamic team in a challenging environment. The role will lead to a permanent position for the right person. Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Oversee Oracle Database System management, server configuration, installations, upgrades, security patches, performance monitoring, user management, and backup & recovery. Project Leadership: Lead complex ICT-supported projects with budgets over £100,000, ensuring successful project delivery. Team Management: Manage a team to support and maintain database systems, while promoting effective collaboration with development and operations teams. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with a range of stakeholders to drive change and achieve positive outcomes for the organisation. Essential Criteria: Qualifications: Degree or professional qualification with 3+ years in an Oracle System DBA role within the last 5 years in a major organisation, or 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience within the last 7 years in a major organisation. Project Experience: Proven experience leading ICT projects with budgets over £100,000. Team Management: At least 3 years of experience managing a team. Required Skills: Broad database-related technical knowledge, staying current with new tech developments. Experience managing licenses and support contracts. Strong change management experience with evidence of successfully leading organisational change. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of Cache, MySQL, or Postgres. PRINCE2 or ITIL qualifications.
