Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team at the Manchester office. This role is ideal for a chartered electrical engineer with a consultancy background who is looking to advance their career in a client-focused, leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical engineering projects, developing a team, and engaging closely with clients to ensure successful project outcomes. This position provides the opportunity to shape a team, drive design excellence, and build lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on electrical engineering projects, representing the company at client meetings and networking events.
* Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring project alignment and satisfaction.
2. Project & Design Oversight:
* Oversee the electrical design process, ensuring all work meets industry standards and aligns with project specifications.
* Review and approve design work from contractors and internal teams, focusing on innovative, sustainable solutions.
3. Team Building & Leadership:
* Build and lead your own team of electrical engineers, providing mentorship, training, and technical guidance to support their growth and development.
* Create a collaborative team environment that upholds the consultancy’s commitment to excellence.
4. Financial Management & Fee Proposals:
* Lead the preparation of fee proposals, manage budgets, and ensure financial objectives are met without compromising quality.
* Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying new project opportunities and supporting the firm’s growth strategy.
5. Networking & Industry Engagement:
* Actively engage in industry networking and client events to promote the company’s expertise and capabilities.
* Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and networking events to expand the firm’s influence in the marketplace.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Chartership: Must be a Chartered Engineer with membership in the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
* Consultancy Background: Proven track record within a consultancy environment, demonstrating commitment and longevity in previous roles.
* Career Ambition: A growth-oriented professional with the drive to advance within the firm, develop a team, and contribute to the consultancy’s future.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role requires frequent client engagement and the ability to represent the company effectively.
