Job Description
Product Engineer required to join technical sales/product development team within this market leading manufacturing business which offers product solutions within the construction sector.
The Product Engineer role will suit person with technical qualification and experience or desire to pursue a role that combines technical/engineering and commercial job content.
You will liaise with Architects, Surveyors, building service contractors and building merchants in response to their technical enquiries relating to how our client’s products can be used in specific construction projects – using your technical and product knowledge, and liaising with colleagues as required, you will address these queries and requests for information and provide solutions which will enable the technical sales team to quote for suitable, fit for purpose products.
You will receive, review and comment on any customer requests for new or modified products and provide an ongoing and accurate sales/marketing/competitor intelligence for Managers and the Sales team on competitor activity.
In addition to telephone, Teams and email contact with customers the Product Engineer will also meet with customers who visit the manufacturing facility and attend conferences, seminars and exhibitions as required.
You should be IT literate to record electronically all customer communications in respect of technical enquiries, parts, prices, procedures, products, projects, quotations, samples, stock, etc – knowledge/experience of CAD would be useful and an ability to read engineering and/or construction and schematic drawings.
Excellent communications skills required for interaction with customers and colleagues across sales, design, customer service, production/logistics and purchasing.
Full product training will be provided but a technical/engineering background in respect of qualification and/or experience is considered essential
