Job Description
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant? Do you have a passion for working with children who have Special Educational Needs? If so, Teaching Personnel are excited to hear from you!
We are looking for TA’s to support Primary and Secondary pupils within the Portsmouth area.
You will be working with children in a Special Needs setting. These schools cater for children and young people with varied needs. These include but are not limited to Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Speech and Language needs, Mental Health needs, Profound Multiple Learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with academic tasks and encourage them to reach their potential in a professional and caring manner.
Adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
Maintain flexibility and the ability to adapt to quick-changing situations.
Effectively communicate with pupils who have varied needs.
Keep relevant records and write reports when required.
Always ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding.
The successful Applicant will have:
Relevant experience working with children or adults who have SEN.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
A strong understanding of SEN and/or SEMH, and how varied these needs can be.
An ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively handle crisis situations.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
