Patient Access Coordinator I

Job Title: Patient Access Representative Company: Allegheny Health Network The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression of AHN's services to patients and families. They are responsible for scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, authorization and referral validation, and collections. Key Responsibilities: Conducts scheduling and preregistration functions, validates patient demographic data, and identifies medical benefits. Verifies insurance information through payor contacts via telephone, online resources, or electronic verification system. Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payment transactions as appropriate. Delivers positive patient experience by cooperating with and maintaining excellent working relationships with patients, AHN leadership, and staff. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; one year of related experience in a medical setting, financial services, or customer service environment. Experience operating a PC and using software applications. Medical terminology and call/service center experience preferred. Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year based on location and experience.
