Job Description

A very large business, specialty general contractor, licensed to work in some states, is seeking a Project Manager (PM) with experience in the construction industry and excellent organizational skills. The PM is the leader of the project and has the following responsibilities: Planning, organizing, and administering the contract with the client as well as contracts with all subcontractors. Monitoring and proactively managing all costs, contract changes, and other financial aspects of the project. Guiding subcontractors to ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of the project. Ensuring timely procurement, review, approval, and delivery of all building components including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Adhering to the contract documents and the project schedule. Actively closing projects and providing exceptional customer service. Requirements: Excellent customer skills and ability to maintain a positive attitude. Ability to understand basic blueprints and specifications. Strong math skills and analytical mindset. Quality written and oral communication skills (Phone / Email / Text) along with professional presentation skills. Ability to give instructions and clearly explain problems or situations. Must be team-oriented. Ability to work with minimal supervision. At least 2 years’ experience in commercial construction, working for a General Contractor or Construction Manager. Construction background and willingness to be trained on our process. Experience with management and implementation of design-build projects. Duties: Gather estimates in coordination with the sales team. Manage individual projects to achieve sales goals. Interact and communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, regional sales manager, and operations department. Handoff projects to the installation crew. Maintain communication by phone and email with project contacts during installation and removal. Problem-solving during installation as needed. Lead the project team to complete work on time and within budget, controlling scope creep. Ensure all project team members are informed on the scope of work. Coordinate the development of scope of works with project teams. Provide early warning to staff of revised schedules and project requirements. Work with subcontractors to ensure adequate resources are assigned and scheduled on projects to meet deadlines and budgets. Ensure appropriate administrative support is scheduled on projects. Maintain relationships and become familiar with client’s business and expectations to encourage and promote future/repeat business. Keep current with client criteria/requirements, ensuring deliverables meet clients’ expectations. Coordinate with subcontractors to establish fees and coordinate with accounting to establish subcontractor agreements. Understand and master the basics of accrual accounting as it relates to revenue and billing, coordinating with accounting on billing and revenue issues. Update and maintain knowledge related to training, degree, and job responsibilities. Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and management skills. Complete assigned work on time and within budget. Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures. The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
