Salary: £37,099.80 - £44,262.60 per annum

The Role
Farm491, the RAUs incubator for agri-tech start-ups, seeks an Operations and Events Manager to join our team for a maternity cover period. This role is ideal for a skilled leader in operations and events management who thrives on creating growth opportunities for start-ups and building connections with industry leaders.
The Farm491 Operations and Events Manager will be responsible for driving operational and financial success by identifying new income sources, leading on bid applications, and developing and implementing events to keep Farm491 at the forefront of food and farming innovation. This role requires a strategic focus on business development, building a strong network of partners, and supporting early-stage companies in the AgriTech sector.
In this role, you will oversee the development and delivery of Farm491s strategic operational goals, including budget and business planning, with a focus on ensuring continuous improvement of our member experience. You will lead the planning and management of impactful events and build productive relationships with industry stakeholders, partners, and investors to support Farm491s growth and visibility within the AgriTech sector. Additionally, you will manage funding opportunities and special projects, foster strategic partnerships, and coordinate a range of marketing activities that promote Farm491s value and membership offering. Overall, your leadership and vision will be critical in helping Farm491 support start-ups in developing solutions for the future of food and farming.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in operational or events management, with proven expertise in project and event delivery, working to deadlines, and staying within budget. Experience with externally funded or multi-agency projects, bid writing, business planning, and budget management is essential, along with a strong commercial awareness for maximising financial performance. Demonstrated success in business development and relationship building, along with leadership skills, are key for this role.
The role requires a high level of drive, interpersonal skills, and commitment to innovation. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/database management is essential, along with strong communication and networking abilities.
