Job Title: Sub Agent
Location: Glasgow
Project: ASTI (Multi-Million Pound Framework for SSEN)
Are you an experienced and motivated Sub Agent looking for a unique opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile project? We are offering an exciting chance for a talented Sub Agent to join our team and make a substantial impact on a brand-new, multi-million-pound Power Transmission Framework for SSEN.
This position is currently at the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage, meaning you will be joining the project from the outset and be instrumental in seeing it through to completion. Your skills and expertise will be essential in shaping the success of this ambitious project, and we are eager to welcome a seasoned professional to our client’s team.
From now until summer 2025, you will be based in the client's Head Office on the outskirts of Glasgow. Following this, you will be required to work on various sites between Inverness and Aberdeen as the project progresses. Please note that all travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses will be fully covered by the contractor during your time on-site.
Role Overview
As a Sub Agent, you will work closely with the Site Agent to manage the day-to-day operations of the construction project. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with subcontractors, overseeing various work packages, and ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You will be instrumental in ensuring that project objectives are met within the agreed timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating all on-site construction activities, including scheduling work, managing resources, and overseeing subcontractor performance.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure that work packages are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Monitor the progress of the project against milestones and budgets, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other project documentation in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure that the work complies with health and safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and the project's technical specifications.
Provide technical support and advice to site staff, addressing technical queries and coordinating design changes when required.
Assist in preparing detailed progress reports, including daily diaries, photographic evidence, and as-built drawings to document the project's activities and achievements.
Qualifications and Skills
A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
A good understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
Proficiency in construction software and tools, including project management software and CAD programmes, would be an advantage.
A collaborative team player who can also work independently and take initiative where required.
What’s On Offer
An exciting opportunity to be part of a prestigious power transmission project with a leading construction firm.
