Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to on behalf of a successful business. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment, carrying out routine maintenance, troubleshooting faults, and responding to emergencies. You will also collaborate with various departments, suppliers, and subcontractors to support maintenance strategies and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
Update and monitor maintenance jobs, preventive maintenance schedules, and stock levels on the engineering system
Provide weekly updates on maintenance works carried out and any relevant issues or developments
Assist in designing, reviewing, and implementing maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods in line with operational needs
Diagnose and resolve breakdown issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production
Replace faulty parts and ensure all equipment is operating correctly
Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues in both engineering and production teams to ensure smooth operations and address issues effectively
Arrange for the procurement of specialist fixtures, fittings, or components as required
Control and manage maintenance tools, stores, and equipment, ensuring they are readily available and in good condition
Respond to emergencies and unplanned repairs promptly, ensuring that all safety and operational procedures are followed
Ensure all activities comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation
Assist the Lead Maintenance Engineer in writing and reviewing maintenance strategies to improve operational efficiency
Help with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
Attend production and engineering meetings as required, providing insights and feedback on ongoing maintenance issues and improvements
Undertake facilities or electrical maintenance tasks when neededSkills and Attributes:
Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks while maintaining high standards of quality
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, departments, and external stakeholders
Relevant technical expertise in maintenance and engineering practices, including knowledge of plant and machinery
Experience with fabrication and machining processes for repairs and part replacements
Be a team player and problem solver
Form good working relationships at all levels of the organisation
